Duties / Expectations:a leader excited about constant improvement and learning Builds strong relationships with clients, doctors, staff and the owner. Provides overall direction for strategy, people, veterinary care, and professional development. Works closely with the owner to ensure that veterinary professional and support staff, medical equipment, and resources exceed client needs. Ensures the highest quality of patient care. Must be able to inspire staff, to manage all aspects of the operations, and to work well with an owner who genuinely loves learning.
Required Experience:essential -- a love for animals and their people Because this position is given a large range of autonomy, a minimum of 4-7 years of supervisory experience in small business operations is required. Veterinary, other medical practices or any comparable client service business or hospitality industry helpful. College degree preferred. Background in bringing out the best in people, operations, business administration or finance/accounting helpful. Prefer knowledge and expertise in veterinary management.

Demographics and Environment: College Village Animal Clinic has provided veterinary services in Anchorage, Alaska for over 40 years. We were founded in 1968 and are AAHA certified. Our patient base is approximately 60% Canine, 30% Feline, 7% Avian and 3% other species and we treat an average of 25 - 40 animals each day. Our efforts are directed towards maximizing the quality of life in all of our patients recognizing their status as valued family members.
Anchorage is surrounded by six mountain ranges. Chugach State Park to the east is the third largest state park in America - a half-million acres of accessible hiking, skiing, camping, wildlife viewing, snow machining, rafting, and climbing.
