The Atlantic Veterinary Clinic is a fast growing outpatient veterinary clinic located in Davenport Florida. We are approximately 20 miles away from the theme parks in a rapidly growing region of Central Florida. While the clinic is primarily small animal in nature, we do see some exotic pets and two pet potbellied pigs.
The clinic opened in 2009, and has had steady growth each ear. We are continuing to grow and have reached the point where a second veterinarian is needed, if not fully booked just yet. We will soon be building a brand new 3500 square foot facility which we are building to AAHA and fear free standards.
The clinic is well equipped and is paper-light, utilizing evetpractice for our record system.

At the Atlantic Veterinary Clinic we are dedicated to providing our clients and patients with excellent, gentle, personalized care. We are committed to our clients by providing information that helps them make more informed decisions about the needs of their pet’s health. We focus on providing the best medicine for our patients while at the same time providing excellent customer service. Diagnostics are offered for almost all cases, so the veterinarian must be comfortable in offering, understanding, and explaining these diagnostics to our clients. The veterinarian must be willing to accept duties associated with the position. These include: ? Examination, diagnosing, and prescribing in the best interest of the pet. ? Excellent communication skills in the room and on the phone with the owners ? Friendly demeanor with a positive attitude ? Full understanding of veterinary medicine and why we do our job. ? Helping technicians when required (Ability to jump in if short-staffed or needed) ? Performing surgeries ? Ability to read and understand blood panels/other records and call clients to discuss these results ? Ability to handle situations that may arise amongst the staff appropriately and fairly. ? Willing to work with the technicians and the other veterinarian on staff to ensure the clinic remains growing and showing a profit. ? A clear understanding of where their power ends. ? Capable of keeping medical records up to date. ? Computer skills (basic) as our system is computer based. ? Able to work on their own or as a part of a team with equal enthusiasm. ? Understand that even when providing good medicine this is a business and analyzed profit and growth is expected.
Upon hiring the veterinarian agrees to standard clinic hiring protocols which include; a 90 day trial period, 6 month full time work before paid vacation days may be used. A training and shadowing period is available for anyone hired to help them learn the protocols and get the feeling of the clinic and its staff. A copy of the employee manual will be provided upon hire.
Anyone hired should have the following minimum requirements: ? DVM or equivalent ? Florida state license ? Be up to date on their continuing education requirements (ex; Florida Drug Laws) ? DEA license ? USDA Aphis license (Optional) ? Be comfortable in the basics practice of veterinary medicine, including surgery, treating, and prescribing medications. ? Be willing to agree to drug testing and background checks ? Willing to accept full time work (5 days/week) ? Present a professional attitude both in person and at work. ? Acceptance of standard employment contract ? 2 Working interviews before hiring are required (One with Owner on site, one with technicians/on their own)- If new graduate is hired the solo day will remain but will be limited to basic daily medicine.
Additional Salary Information: Will be paid at an hourly rate based off 40 hours/week.
Salary is negotiable depending upon experience, benefits accepted, compatibility, clinic growth,and ability to work in our setting.
