The Fairhaven Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1979 and is located in Bellingham, WA, voted one of the most livable small cities in the United States by Outdoor Magazine. We seek a FT Associate DVM to join our team of 5 Drs. in a primarily cat and dog hospital equipped with digital radiology, in house diagnostics, state of the art iM3 dentistry, and a full surgical suite that includes Doppler-blood pressure and pulse-oximetry. All Drs. are supported by a well-trained and educated team of Licensed Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Assistants and Customer Service Reps. Our hospital has a culture where the staff enjoy coming to work and clients know we truly respect the bond they have with their pets. Openings for employment at our hospital are rare with employee tenure across all positions averaging 10+ years! We place great value on our staff; turnover is not our business.
Here is what we seek from you:
Minimum 1-3 years direct veterinary patient care.
Fear Free principles of care are a must. (Fear Free Level 1 and 2 certification paid for new hire)
EMR experience and computer savvy. (We are paperless).
Strong communication skills, soft-skills, and enjoyment of client interaction.
Team approach to care and desire to utilize support staff to the fullest.
Interest in complimentary medicine and desire to obtain company paid training through continuing education and certification.
Feline focus a plus.
Here is what we offer in return:
FT veterinarians work 34-38 hours weekly with 2-3 days off. You will work no more than one Saturday every 5-6 weeks.
No Sunday, evening or emergency /on-call hours.
