National Spay Alliance if proud to announce we are opening our second clinic in beautiful Rome GA! Our clinic will be located within the brand new PAWS building, a state of the art animal sheltering facility.

National Spay Alliance Foundation is non-profit, our primary clinic is a high quality-high volume spay/neuter and general medical clinic located in Dalton GA. This new clinic will be spay/neuter only. We are seeking a veterinarian to provide spay/neuter surgeries for public and shelter animals.

We are looking for a full time veterinarian experienced in high quality, high volume spay and neuter for owned pets, shelter/rescue animals, and community/feral cats, including pediatric procedures and additional procedures as necessary. On-the-job training is provided by the Medical Director and the veterinarian on staff.

The Floyd County Commissioners have committed to reducing shelter intake and euthanasia of healthy adoptable animals by instituting a high volume spay/neuter program for it's facility as well as community. We are very excited to be a part of the initiative.

Our spay/neuter/medical clinic is located in Dalton, Georgia nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains it is the home to many of the world's floor covering manufacturers. We are just 30 minutes south of Chattanooga and 90 minutes from Atlanta.

We are passionate about providing care to families who could not otherwise afford services and priority will go to candidates supporting our mission. Experience in spay/neuter surgery preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible in making sure Veterinary Staff keeps surgery clean and sanitary.
Perform spay/neuter surgeries on shelter and public animals, including pregnant animals.
Perform spay/neuter, vaccination and microchip clinics and education through NSAF’ Community Outreach Program.
Mentor and oversee Veterinary Technicians.
Ensure medical records in Clinic HQ are complete and accurate.
Responsible for meeting DEA requirements and maintaining current licensure.
Attend staff meetings as needed.
DALTON CLINIC additional responsibilities -
- Develop a rapport with clients to determine their needs; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures to deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.

Qualifications and Skills

A DVM degree from an accredited school of veterinary medicine.
A license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Georgia (or the ability to obtain one).
DEA license or eligibility to obtain one is required.
High quality, high-volume, spay/neuter experience is preferred.

About National Spay Alliance Foundation

National Spay Alliance Foundation began in the spring of 2013. It was founded by Pam Pierce and a Colorado veterinarian as Spay Today Mobile Outreach. They both realized the need for low cost spay/neuter services in under served areas such as Kansas and Georgia and decided to create a solution. The gold standard for spay/neuter clinics, developed by the Humane Alliance of North Carolina, was utilized to design a high quality, low cost program. The clinic began as a mobile organization that traveled with two surgical rigs, one in Kansas and the other in Georgia. As of December 2016 we have performed over 11,000 surgeries. The demand for our services has grown exponentially. To better serve our pets and people Spay Today Mobile Outreach changed its name to National Spay Alliance Foundation and become a nonprofit (501(c)3) brick-and-mortar establishment in Dalton, GA with mobile capabilities and a plan for expansion. Our mission is to end the tragedy of euthanasia due to pet over-population and homelessness. We fulfill our mission by providing high-quality, affordable and accessible spay/neuter services as well as vaccines and general medical care to pets in communities where economic barriers may otherwise prevent pet owners and rescue groups from accessing those services.
