The Binding Site VT specializes in the production of polyclonal antibodies, primarily in sheep, and is part of a larger well-established and successful medical diagnostic company based in England. We currently have a full time position available for a Production Supervisor on our busy sheep farm and laboratory in Benson, VT
The Laboratory Production Supervisor will work in conjunction with the Production Manager, Laboratory Operations Manager and other Laboratory Production Supervisors to provide operational support in the day to day tasks and activities associated with production. The post holder will participate in and carry out all aspects of laboratory and animal procedures and activities in the production of polyclonal antibodies within the laboratory and farm environment. They will help to ensure that the end product is of good quality and that the department operates efficiently in terms of the delivery of the service and the products they supply. They will be responsible for ensuring that all of their work is carried out in accordance with the IACUC protocol and animal welfare procedures and guidelines.
This job includes:
Supervision of a group of animal/laboratory technicians within our manufacturing team
A combination of animal and/or laboratory work
Manual handling and care of livestock
Minimum of 2-3 years of Supervisory experience
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
The ability to lead by example.
The ability to multi task.
The ability to work as part of a team.
The ability to work under pressure and to set deadlines.
To work with minimum supervision and with excellent attention to detail.
To be reliable and flexible to the needs of the business, including overtime coverage as required.
A relevant animal/science degree (or equivalent)
Knowledge and experience of working within a Laboratory environment.
Knowledge and experience of working within a Quality System environment.
Knowledge and experience of working on a farm and/or with livestock.
Day/Hours: We operate 7 days/week, with a compressed daily schedule of x4, 10 hour days. Weekend working patterns are available and may be required. Shift differential included on weekend days.
Overtime is available and at times required.
