If you are ready to have fun practicing in veterinary medicine, you've found the right place. Our practice is a great working environment with a high staff to doctor ratio. Our staff is well trained and will do most, if not all your non-doctor required duties. The staff even takes your notes and transcribes in the medical record for you. No more staying after hours to finish charts!!!
We believe work should be fun, energetic, and fulfilling. We do have a busy schedule, but our well-trained upbeat staff makes the day go so much easier. Your day would consist of performing examinations, educating clients, performing surgery, developing treatment plans and prescribing medication. Our staff does everything else. No placing catheters, no taking x-rays, no drawing blood, no administering medications, no placing endotracheal tubes,... relax the staff has it. Doing surgery? Relax... a trained staff member is dedicated to just monitoring the pet while under anesthesia, another to assisting you, and yet another to monitor the recovery of that patient. The head surgery technician communicates with the owner on routine and most surgeries including call backs in a few days.
Experienced doctor mentor-ship available. Our owner has 18 years experience as a general practitioner and loves to teach and coach. A new graduate can offer camaraderie and new perspectives. Our practice philosophy is that we are all better if we work together. Daily case discussion among veterinarians is the norm. Even if it's just to discuss the cool things we saw that day. A culture of healing and learning is our goal.
We respect, understand and promote a balanced work-life relationship. The full-time position is 40 hours per week. We require you work one Saturday per month and you will get a different day off that week to replace your Saturday. If you are seeking a part-time position, the schedule obviously will vary to your and the practice needs. We do not handle after hour emergencies and after hour emergencies are referred to a local emergency practice. There are no on-call duties. We have a big need for weekend appointments. No after hours emergencies and no on-call duties.
Additional starting benefits include 80 hours in paid time off, malpractice insurance, AVMA Dues, Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, and Vision Insurance, Continuing Education Allowance, Retirement 401k, State License, DEA License, and Student Loan Payment Assistance.
