We are currently hiring for a F/T ophthalmology technician position. The ideal candidate will have prior specialty practice experience, but we also welcome licensed technicians with extensive general practice experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong general practice skills to move into specialty practice.
We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualities and qualifications:
Currently licensed or eligible to become licensed as a Veterinary Technician in the state of Washington; VTS credentialed technicians or those interested in pursuing VTS credentials are encouraged to apply.
Has successfully completed and graduated from an accredited veterinary technician program OR has "grandfathered in" and successfully challenged the VTNE to obtain credentialed status.
Takes personal responsibility and displays integrity.
Displays competency in the general knowledge and nursing skills required to care for critically ill patients.
Enjoys a team environment and working collaboratively.
Can effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, supervisors, DVMs, clients, and the public.
Maintains professionalism and composure, makes sound decisions, and is able to effectively multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
Enjoys teaching, training and learning; has a strong desire to share knowledge with peers and is open to learning from others.
Can read, write and speak English; is able to follow verbal and written medical orders and instructions.
Has basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
Is computer literate with the ability to learn new veterinary based software applications.
Is able to bend, kneel, stoop, and stand for long periods of time; can individually and frequently lift patients and inventory up to 40 pounds.
