Shepherd Spring Animal is seeking an associate veterinary clinician for a new position in our practice. We are located just south of Tallahassee, Florida in Wakulla County. We are a fast growing, 8 year old small animal practice in search of our 4th veterinarian.
Our practice is located in a new, 5000 square foot small animal hospital. We have a complete, in house lab, pharmacy, digital radiography including dental and U/S. We provide complete surgical services including all soft tissue, orthopedic and neurosurgery. We would love an applicant who has an interest in surgery.
Unlike most veterinary hospitals, we are ONLY open Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00. Weekends are for us to enjoy with family or friends. Our county has a quiet, country atmosphere and is located on the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the coastline in Wakulla County is part of, and protected by the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. 65% of the land in our county is public land - National forest, State forest, State Park. Fishing, both fresh and salt water, bike trails, hiking trails, numerous spring fed rivers - all in a wilderness setting, are a recreation mainstay in our area.
We are a community oriented practice, meaning we strive to be an active part of our community by participating in spay-neuter programs and supporting local rescue organizations with medical and surgical care for the cats and dogs under their care, to help them find a forever home.
In addition to companion animals we also provide care for wild Sea Turtles and the animals at our local zoo - Tallahassee Museum of Natural History.
This job has a guaranteed base salary of $75,000. Annual pay and benefits for a qualified candidate could exceed $100,000.

Shepherd Spring Animal Hospital is a 8year old small animal practice in a rural community 15 miles south of Tallahassee Florida. We provide quality care for our patients in a relaxed atmosphere of genuine concern for the well being of our patients and our clients.
We have recently moved into our new 5,000 sq. foot small animal hospital. We provide care for our community's dogs and cats, as w...ell as a few goats and "pocket pets". We also provide pro bono medical and surgical care to injured wildlife and sea turtles as well as a number of wildlife zoo specimens at the Tallahassee Museum of Natural History.
Our hospital is open 8:00 am - 5:00 pm M-F. Our clients understand our need to enjoy a life outside the practice. We do not provide boarding or grooming, just compassionate veterinary medicine and surgery.
We are located on US 98 Florida's Scenic Coastal Highway next door to the beautiful St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. 65% of the land in Wakulla County is either State Forest, National Forest or National Wildlife Refuge. Our area is known as Florida's Forgotten Coast. Our schools are consistently rated in the top 10% in the state.
Fishing is great, many bike trails, hiking and kayaking on our crystal clear spring-fed rivers are a few of our pastimes.
