Located in Northwest Michigan: I am currently looking for a small animal veterinarian to help our busy team. Formerly a two doctor practice, now running as a very busy one doctor practice after an unexpected death of the former owner. The practice is located in Northwest Michigan along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, which offers many outdoor activities in the surrounding area. Job duties include surgery and exams for wellness and sick visits. After hour emergencies are referred to a 24 hour emergency hospital. I am looking for someone that is able to communicate well with the clients and is able to design a plan that works within the client's financial means. My focus as a new owner is on education for the clients and staff, improved customer service, and providing a work environment that is geared towards everyone working together as a team. Must have a DVM or equivalent degree, Licensed to practice in Michigan, have or obtain USDA license, have or plan to obtain a Michigan Controlled Substance license and DEA license
Additional Salary Information: Approximately a 32 hour work week with an average of every other Saturday worked.
New graduates would have a tiered salary that would work up to the full time salary.
Office hours are: M/T/Th 9:00-5:00, Closed on Wed/Sun, Fri/Sat 9:00-noon. Staff meetings and lunch and learns on most Friday's until 2:00.
First year 2 weeks paid vacation, $1500 for continuing education and up to 5 days, supplemental money to go towards health insurance, paid MIVMA/AVMA dues, professional liability insurance, DEA license, Michigan License, Michigan Controlled Substance license will be paid also

Manistee Veterinary Hospital is well established small animal hospital within the community. The current facility was built in 2000. Currently the hospital is running one full time veterinarian and a part time relief veterinarian. There is a total of 8 support staff.
