Looking for a unicorn.....will you be my unicorn? Do you want to be a well paid, professionally fulfilled unicorn or do you want to be gerbil running frantically on the corporate wheel?
We have a very busy mixed animal practice(by mixed I mean anything without feathers or scales) in the eastern metro Atlanta area. We are close enough to the city to do all the fun city stuff and far enough out to be close to the country.
Our practice is situated on 25 acres of farmland dotted with our own black angus cattle. Although most of our work is done on small animals, there is plenty of room to grow the farm animal portion of the practice.
We have been in business since 2012 and are ready to take it to the next level by adding a second full time associate immediately that is experienced and also at least one newly graduated student to train. We are looking a long term relationship. This is an opportunity to help shape the practice for the future. There is also ownership potential if interested.
We offer lower cost services to all our clients and try to be creative in helping everyone provide adequate veterinary care to their pets. Just because we are low cost does not mean we practice shoddy medicine. We have high quality digital x-ray, ultrasound, telemedicine for both ultrasound and x-rays, full in house blood analyzer suite, IV fluid pumps, etc. We cut costs by shopping around and being efficient, not by cutting corners medically.
We have a very heavy surgical load and the successful candidate will be surgically competent and confident. This includes being able to successfully do c-sections in dogs and cats. Our reproductive caseload is very large, doing over 300 c-sections a year.
The position is for full time, but part time may be considered depending on what the candidate brings to the table.
Must be able to multitask and handle multiple cases at a time competently.
Adequate surgical technique is a must. The ability to do a c-section already is a definite plus, but aptitude to learn will also be factored in if a candidate has not previously done a lot of c-sections.
Punctuality is an absolute must. Once a schedule is assigned, the candidate must have the capability to be on time every day unless there is a dire emergency.
Sense of humor and ability to work with others is required. This place only works as a team. There are no individual superstars here. That means the ability to work with other doctors and help train any new doctors and the ability to work with the staff and train them when needed as well.
Spanish speaker is a big bonus.
