Our award-winning AAHA and NYSVFAP accredited hospital in the beautiful Hudson Valley is searching for a Relief Veterinarian to join our team. The Relief veterinarian is an integral member of the healthcare team at Otterkill Animal Hospital. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Work with the managing veterinarian to provide excellent customer service and patient care.
  • Communicate compassionately and effectively with clients. Present all treatment options and help clients make informed decisions based on the medical facts. Alternative treatment plans must be developed in cases with financial constraints. Always be sensitive to the emotional needs of the clients.
  • Be an ambassador for the hospital, delivering excellence in patient care with every client we see. 

Otterkill Animal Hospital is located near the Otterkill River in central Orange County, New York. As one of the Hudson Valley's premiere animal hospitals, we are proud of our reputation of providing compassionate care for all companion animals, as well as local wildlife.

Together with our veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants we strive to provide the best in health care services for our patients. We pledge to our clients that we will treat all of our patients as if they were members of our own families.

Our mission is to provide the highest level of veterinary medicine, surgery, and dentistry for all our animal patients in a caring and compassionate manner while fulfilling and exceeding the veterinary health care needs of their human companions. We offer a whole animal approach to medicine incorporating acupuncture with behavior training and traditional Western medicine.

Candidate Requirements:

  • DVM or VMD degree; at least 3 years of practice experience
  • A current NY state license

This position may include day, evening, and weekend shifts
