We are looking for an associate veterinarian to join our caring, skilled team at Mountain View Veterinary Health Center. Located in beautiful northern Utah in the Cache Valley, we are a 4.5 doctor practice with 2 locations. We have been AAHA accredited since 1971 and were the second hospital in Utah to achieve that status. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, we value innovation and new ideas, and strive to provide the very best care possible to our patients and their owners. We love and value the long-term relationships that we build with our patients and their owners, and equally value hospice and end-of-life care along with the new puppy or kitten visit.
Benefits include IRA with company matching, CE, PTO, paid license, professional and association dues, maternity leave, uniform/scrubs allowance, and medical coverage. We value staff improvement and expect our doctors to be involved in helping those around them develop their skills. We hold regular team meetings and departmental meetings to discuss ways to improve, develop our skills, and share knowledge. We are not perfect, but truly care about our coworkers and clientele, and understand that as we continue to develop and change, we can provide a healthy, happy, fun, nurturing environment for our patients, their owners, and each other.
Cache Valley is surrounded by National Forest and Wilderness Areas, and opportunities for outdoor recreation abound. Utah State University, and its associated DVM program bring great diversity to our area. Located immediately off-campus, our clientele is largely composed of University instructors and graduate students, and is well-educated. Our clients value best care and definitive diagnoses, which meshes perfectly with our practice philosophy. Our two locations allow us to provide care for the entire valley, and give a nice change of scene for doctors and staff.
We have utilized paperless medical records since 1997, and have consistently been the leaders in our area for newest technology and treatment protocols, including surgical laser, digital dental X-ray, digital whole-body X-ray, diagnostic ultrasound, full state-of-the-art dental care including endodontics, general and advanced surgery, and the option for referral to board-certified specialists for critical care, advanced imaging, specialty surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, and oncology. We also have access to the only interventional radiology and HDR brachytherapy facility in the entire region.
In addition to traditional veterinary medicine, we also utilize integrative medicine including acupuncture, a small amount of herbal medicine, and chiropractic care. We also strongly believe in Fear Free Principles, and are working to become Fear Free Certified as a practice.
New graduates are welcome- we value mentoring, and yet also value new ideas and concepts that often are brought to our practice by new graduates. Established veterinarians will also find us a good fit if they value best care, a skilled team, and above all- the human animal bond. Come join our team! We look forward to hearing from you!

About MOUNTAIN VIEW VETERINARY HEALTH CENTER
2 Location Small Animal Hospital in College Town with a Vet School ProgramLots of opportunities for personal development based on interestsMountain View Veterinary Health Center was started in 1971 in Logan, Utah. At that time, it was called Mt. View Veterinary Clinic. It was one of the first hospitals in the area to have a dedicated small animal exam room. At the time, small animal medicine was at best a sideline for the farm veterinarians in the area. Dr. Richard Jones who started MVVHC, had a vision to the contrary, however, and continued to push for improvement and growth in all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery. We were the second AAHA-accredited animal hospital in Utah, and have continued to be the leaders in our area for medicine, surgery, medical record keeping, and integrative medicine. Dr Melinda Hillegass and Dr. James Israelsen purchased the hospital in 1997, and have expanded Dr. Jones' vision to include a beautiful second location across town with premier boarding facility, and have added integrative medicine options including chiropractic and acupuncture care. We changed the name of the practice to reflect our values; we feel that emphasizing HEALTH ...in our name supports our strong commitment to preventative care, and premier care for a lifetime. We believe that through our commitment to our patients and their owners, they will enjoy a longer, happier, healthier life. We enjoy a collegial relationship with our fellow veterinarians in the area, and support and participate in our local and state veterinary associations. We believe in giving back to our community through support of 4-H, local youth and church groups, our local Pride festival, and several festivals and fairs throughout the year.
