Hello Doctors

We are currently looking for both experienced Rehab Veterinarians or one who is looking to be certified to fill an opening with a state of the art veterinary hospital in Santa Cruz, CA. You will have the opportunity to join a beautiful hospital facility. We are looking for a friendly, motivated professional individual who works well with fellow team members in a fast-paced environment. Interested candidates should have prior experience working in a Veterinary Hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES for Rehab. Veterinarian:

  • creating and implementing therapy plans to increase an animal’s mobility and minimize any pain they may be experiencing as a result of an injury or a chronic condition.
  • provide rehabilitative care to animals who have had surgery, been injured or suffer from chronic pain to improve quality of life
  • works through the treatment plan with the dog, making adjustments as necessary to ensure that progress is being made in each session. 
  • Therapists may make use of a variety of treatment options such as applying heat or cold to an affected area, electrode stimulation, massage, hydrotherapy (swimming), treadmill work, bandaging, splinting, drug therapy, or exercise programs. They must also keep careful records to track the dog’s progress and document the specific therapies that are utilized
  • Promote the health of animals by advising animal owners about sanitation measures, feeding, and general care. Cultivate positive relationships with customers and their animals through regular communication and excellent record-keeping
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good clinical judgment, provide supervisory support of technical staff and use diplomacy and tact in dealing with internal and external customers Knowledge of preventive medicine Familiarity with Avimark software a plus.
 Equipment:
  • In-house equipment includes ultrasound, critical care monitoring equipment, isolation ward, and fully equipped surgical suites
 
 

Additional Salary Information: Salary is based on experience, relocation assistance available, and great benefits.
