Our small town, independent, active, full-service clinic is seeking a full time veterinarian. This position includes all of the classic veterinary duties - preventative medicine, internal medicine, surgery (excluding orthopedics but this specialty can be added), dentistry, behavioral counseling, nutrition consulting, and dermatology. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, confidence combined with compassion, a good analytic mind, and solid organizational skills.

We are looking for a forward thinking innovator to help keep the clinic on the leading edge of care; an emotionally stable manager to promote and nurture a positive and productive environment for staff; a collaborator on patient cases and clinic practices, and a heads-down workhorse when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a love for the Pacific Northwest and be interested in establishing roots here. Ultimately, this person would be interested in buying in to this well-established clinic within five years.

About the clinic:

We are currently a small animal exclusive clinic but are open to a mixed approach if the right candidate is interested in large animal care. We are centered in science-based veterinary medicine and focus on client communication and education.

Our facility houses a lull complement of equipment so that we can readily diagnose and care for any patient including: a lab, digital radiographs, digital dental rads, top notch anesthesia monitor, and an ultrasound. Our runs feature radiant floor heat and skylights, and we have several large exercise yards. We also offer boarding and play care in the same facility while cats are boarded separately.

About Our Location:

Located in Port Angeles, our clinic is in one of the most scenic areas of Washington state. We are at the gateway to Olympic National Park and the Olympic Mountains are the backdrop for our town. You can be in the mountains in 15 minutes, at the Strait of Juan de Fuca in three minutes and at the ocean within the hour. Port Angeles may be in the Pacific Northwest, but we have sunshine pretty much every day and minimal snow in the winter. Traffic is not an issue here – most commutes are under 15 minutes for any daily activity.

If living in a small community in an incredibly beautiful part of the world and working at an expert clinic appeals to you, we would love to hear from you.

Perform exams, surgeries, dentals with radiographs (staff are trained), radiographs, lab tests in house, interpreting test results and researching cases. Consult with clients in re diagnosis, prognosis, nutrition, behavior, and quality of life. Great communication skills in person and on the phone and with staff. Some staff management duties and certainly clear lines of communication in house expected. Collegial relationship with staff and doctor/owner with case review to enable better care. Occasional staff training expected. Open communication required
