We are seeking great people to join our team!  Green Acres Veterinary Center is a growing, progressive, and well-equipped emergency and general practice in Buffalo, New York.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a multi-doctor, multi-practice small animal group that prides itself on bringing quality care to all patients and their owners.  Green Acres is part of Buffalo Veterinary Group, a privately owned group of seven practices.  Our veterinarians are supported by a full administrative team in addition to individual practice managers, allowing them to focus on practicing medicine.

Green Acres is the ideal place to start your veterinarian career!  Our team of nine GP/ER DVMs have years of experience with a diverse caseload and enjoy teaching new veterinarians.  In addition, we are expanding our services.  This summer we will be moving into our new 30,000 sq. ft facility (see above) that will have 18 exam rooms, a dedicated ICU, CT, and endoscopy in addition to our current services.

Work Schedule –  We provide six months of direct mentorship.  During this time, you will see cases alongside your mentoring veterinarian to allow direct oversight in general practice, emergency medicine, and surgery.  This phase of your employment will provide an excellent base as you transition to your primary schedule.  Once you begin your primary schedule, you will have other colleagues working alongside you to provide support.  Your work schedule will average 35-38 hours per week.

Salary –  New graduates start with a base salary of $95,000!

Insurance, Dues, Benefits –  We are pleased to provide a comprehensive benefit package including professional liability insurance for the practitioner, health insurance, life insurance, 401(k), DEA registration, and membership dues in the local, state, and national organizations such as AVMA, AAHA, and NYSVMS.  We also provide a comprehensive personal and family pet care discount.  In addition, we provide 10 paid (major) holidays and 10 days of paid vacation per year.  Vacation time is arranged by the doctors and shifts are traded to allow for coverage. This style of vacation time planning is preferred as it allows flexibility.

Continuing CE –  We will pay for annual attendance at a national meeting.  The amount provided for national meetings increases yearly starting at $1,500 up to $2,000.

Western NY –  Buffalo is a city on the rise, experiencing wonderful growth in the last five years.  Our region is expanding with new business, culture, social, and sporting events.  The area is surrounded by lakes and rivers and is within a short drive of Niagara Falls, Toronto, and the mountains providing a wide range of recreational activities year-round.
