Appelbaum Animal Clinic is a family-owned, rapidly growing 2 doctor small animal clinic in the heart of Tulsa, OK. We are breaking ground on a new clinic, and are seeking a full or part time associate veterinarian to be part of our team.

We are seeking someone with the ability to practice high quality veterinary medicine, and to care for dogs and cats, and clients.  Any level of experience will be considered, including new and recent graduates.  Basic surgical (spay, neuter, mass removal, etc) and dentistry skills are required.

Mentorship comes easily to our doctors, and we are more than willing to teach new graduates. Professional growth will be encouraged, as we are always looking to expand our services.

We have full in-house lab, DR digital radiology, full anesthetic monitoring (oximetry, ECG, etc), therapy laser, and dental radiology.  We are looking to add ultrasound very soon.  We treat a wide variety of patients, from well patient preventive medicine (vaccine/parasite control) to complicated internal medicine, dermatologic, and surgical cases (routine spay/neuter, soft tissue, dentistry, and some orthopedic surgery).  We treat most of our patients in-house, but also have a great working relationship with the referral/ER centers in Tulsa and at Oklahoma State University College of Vet Med for the most complicated cases.

4-day work week, with rotating Saturdays (8-noon).

Excellent base salary/commission and benefits package, commensurate with experience and regionally competitive, which includes but is not limited to health insurance, dental/vision, matching IRA, and paid CE, among other things. Our support staff has years of experience in patient care and management, and we lean on them heavily to make the doctor workload more manageable.  And, as an added bonus, we all enjoy working with each other.

We strive to attain a healthy work/life balance, and we understand that family/personal time is very important.  Our work ethic is to get clients and patients cared for, but to enjoy what we do while we do it.  We are a very busy clinic, and we are continually growing, but we do our best to allow our doctors and staff to enjoy their off time.

Yes, we are in the smack middle of the country, but...Tulsa is a great place to live and raise a family, if that is your desire. Tulsa is the second largest city in Oklahoma, and is approximately 110 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. We don't have any oceans immediately nearby (so we have no hurricanes), but we have tons of other things to pique a wide variety of interests.  Too many lakes to count with hundreds of miles of hiking trails and plentiful outdoor activities, native American culture and history, museums, a great local music scene, and a variety of sports (college and professional) can be found within our region. The NBA is 100 miles to our southwest (OKC), and multiple pro sports are a short beautiful 3 hour drive north (KC), or south (Dallas). Tulsa is a large city with a small town feel, and very family friendly.  We also have an airport that is EASY in and out, and beaches are a short 2-3 hour flight away (and Southwest flies here).

If you have a great sense of humor and can enjoy working with a wide variety of clients, provide compassionate care for patients, work with a staff who wants to work with you, AND are not afraid of being busy, we want to hear from you.  Come grow, and help us grow. We are truly a family oriented clinic.
Additionally, we understand the need for privacy, and that many doctors are searching for new positions quietly, so any communications will be held strictly confidential.

Visit our website (AppelbaumAnimalClinic.com) and our Facebook page to see our reviews and learn more about us.

DVM/VMD or equivalent

Must be able to obtain an Oklahoma License in good standing, and if needed or not yet obtained, will be paid.

Weekend duties: rotated

Most importantly, a client service orientation is a must, as is a positive attitude toward working as a team.

OUT OF STATE APPLICANTS, TEXT OR CALL (918) 770-2042, TO ASK ABOUT A TRAVEL STIPEND TO VISIT US.  THAT WAY YOU CAN SEE HOW WE DO THINGS, HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT, AND LEARN MORE ABOUT US.

NOTES:

Additional Salary Information: Salary/commission that is regionally competitive and commensurate with ability and experience. Benefits include CE allowance, organization membership, DEA/OBN license, uniform/equipment allowance, matching retirement, among other things.
