The Oahu Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Oahu SPCA), located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, is seeking a full-time veterinarian. This position will help fulfill our mission of humanely reducing the number of homeless animals by providing sterilization and veterinary care to the community and to shelter animals. This position will handle all medical cases of shelter cats and dogs, ensuring adherence to protocols, and ensure that all staff and volunteers follow Standard Operating Procedures. This position works closely with the Executive Director and clinic staff. The successful candidate will also perform high volume sterilizations (15-25/day) and other procedures for shelter and privately owned companion animals. The position also will oversee Wellness and Inoculation Clinics at all Petco locations in the State of Hawaii.

• Degree in veterinary medicine from an accredited school of veterinary medicine, • Current license to practice in the state of Hawaii or the ability to obtain a license to practice in Hawaii. • Current Hawaiian Narcotics Enforcement Division (NED) license, or the ability to obtain an NED license. • Current DEA license or the ability to obtain a DEA license. • Submitting to a background check • Absence of any veterinary board disciplinary actions • At least two to five years’ experience working in shelter or high volume spay/neuter clinic. • Administration skills – practice management preferred. • Must be available to work weekends. • Salary commensurate with experience. • Contact with CV and/or resume (including active references).
