Come join us at Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital in Hackensack, NJ! We are a great 2 doctor GP practice looking to add another full-time veterinarian to the team. We see a variety of small animal GP cases in our fully equipped practice. We are just off the GW Bridge and so have easy access to the surrounding towns/suburbs and NYC. We are proud of our collaborative and supportive practice culture with a focus on top-quality veterinary care for our patients, and a strong work-life balance for our staff. 

A healthy work-life balance is critical to your long-term success and growth as a veterinarian. So, our compensation and benefits package includes the following:

  • Signing bonus of $10,000
  • Higher of: a base annual salary of $130,000 - $145,000 salary or your production percentage (commensurate with experience)
  • 4-day workweek. No overnight or after-hours on-call
  • Health insurance (including dental and vision)
  • Full reimbursement for all veterinary licenses, membership dues, and AVMA PLIT coverage
  • Paid VIN account
  • $2,000 CE allowance per year and CE days 
  • 3 weeks paid time off per year
  • 401(k)

  • AND your choice of any 2 of the following:
    • Two additional weeks (80 hours) of vacation per year
    • $10,000 annual year-end bonus
    • Unlimited CE
    • One month paid sabbatical every two years
    • Annual $15,000 donation to the animal-related charity of your choice

The Practice

You need the necessary tools and resources to provide the best care. Our hospital features the following:

  • Digital x-ray with radiologist review when needed 
  • Ultrasound machine in-house (with mobile IM specialist available for ultrasounds)
  • Full surgery suite with full patient monitoring capabilities (multiparameter monitoring, doppler BP, EtCO2, etc.)
  • Dental x-ray and dental unit
  • Tonovet
  • In-house bloodwork machines (CBC, chem, coags); Antech reference lab
  • Cloud-based electronic medical record -- so you can access your records from anywhere
  • Nearby specialty hospitals for referrals, emergencies and consultations when needed
  • Mobile boarded specialists for imaging (ultrasound, echos, etc.) and orthopedic surgery if needed
  • Client app (Vet2Pet) for client communication from the front desk -- to free up your time so you can focus on the patients and matter at hand

Job Requirements

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent
  • Internship trained or 2+ years of experience preferred. We are open to mentoring recent graduates if it is the right fit.
