Excellent opportunity to live in western Massachusetts and work with a skilled, collaborative team in a highly respected referral-surgery service at a hospital that is welcoming, relaxed, and caring for clients, patients, and for our staff. 

Will lead a team of three dedicated certified nurses and a certified rehabilitation therapist to handle the surgical needs of referring hospitals in western Mass, northern Connecticut, and southern Vermont.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain and improve the quality of surgical procedures
  • Deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress
  • Communicate promptly with referring veterinarians
  • Stay current with new medical/surgical information and changes in veterinary medicine
  • Positively represent the hospital in the community

Requirements: 

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree
  • Must have 5+ years of veterinary surgery experience
  • Licensure in good standing in the state of Massachusetts or ability to get licensure in MA

Riverbend Animal Hospital is a Rarebreed partner hospital located between Amherst and Northampton, Massachusetts. It is an AAHA-accredited general medicine practice combined with a dedicated referral-surgery service. Riverbend’s surgery service takes care of the surgical needs of our own patients as well as the surgical needs of dogs and cats referred to us from veterinary hospitals throughout western Massachusetts, northern Connecticut, and southern Vermont. Currently over 70 veterinary hospitals refer their more involved surgeries to Riverbend.
