De Cillo Equine Clinic, located in Hempstead, Texas, has an immediate internship position available.

De Cillo Equine Clinic is a full service equine clinic offering a fully equipped clinic for outpatient procedures, elective and emergency surgeries, hospitalizations, and ambulatory care. Routine preventative care, ophthalmology, lameness evaluations, breeding, dental, surgical and reproduction are all areas in which an intern will be able to receive hands-on experience.

De Cillo Equine Clinic is located approximately 70 miles northwest of Houston, within a 1 hour drive of Texas A & M, in a highly equine populated area. Along with Dr. Gustavo De Cillo, we have 1 board certified surgeon and 2 associate veterinarians.

Internship responsibilities include assisting doctors with in-hospital patients, emergencies, and after hours care of hospitalized patients. Daily record keeping and client interaction are also included, giving an intern an opportunity to enhance their "people" skills. Interns will also assist Doctors with outpatient appointments and assist in surgeries.

Our internships are for a 1 year period. Internship applicants should have general experience in equine medicine, as well as basic horsemanship knowledge. Our interns are expected to have a friendly, positive attitude. Many long hours, late nights and weekends are to be expected, so a great work ethic is mandatory. They will need to work as part of a team to insure the smooth running of the clinic and care of our patients/clients.

NOTES:

Additional Salary Information: The internship package includes housing, monthly salary and benefits, based on experience.
