The Hometown Veterinarian is Hiring!

At The Hometown Veterinarian, we stress a positive attitude and it shows. All puppies and kittens all day, every day! - not really, but if you like people, animals, and great attitudes, this is the place for you.

We are seeking to add additional associate veterinarians to our rapidly growing companion animal hospital. Located in Iowa (Is this Heaven?), we serve a fantastic client base where veterinarians are truly appreciated. Holidays bring more food gifts from clients than you should ever eat!

Corporate practice not your thing? Our hospital owner is a board member of the Independent Veterinary Practitioners Association and is dedicated to mentoring veterinarians to become doctors that can think for themselves. Our treatments are never “one size fits all,” our practice management software will not tell you what medications you have to prescribe, and our hospital is equipped with the toys to let a you diagnose and treat to your heart’s content. We see referral patients from surrounding hospitals and beyond for medical and surgical cases but still take the time to give personal care to our large base of preventative care patients.

Physical expansion construction of our hospital space is set to begin soon, adding more exam rooms, treatment area, and even a private room for our hospital's resident kitties. Plans include an adjoining urgent/emergency care clinic to our hospital. If evenings/nights and weekend shifts are your thing, we will have opportunities for you as well.

Are you a new graduate, a board-certified internist, a surgeon, or something in-between? If you have a positive attitude and enjoy building relationships with your clients, call Dr. Jacobson at 641-758-3333, email, or stop by for a tour of our hospital in Marshalltown and submit a resume. Be sure to Facebook-stalk us or check out our website at hometownveterinarian.com.

Job description: Providing veterinary care for small animal patients.  Patient make up is primarily canine and feline. Small exotics are cared for in our practice but not a requirement for every veterinarian on staff.
