VCA South Shore Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time, Referral Coordinator to join our Client Care team at our 24-hour emergency/ multi-specialty practice in South Weymouth, Massachusetts! The Referral Coordinator works as the connection between the referring doctor, our hospital doctors, the medical support team, the client and patient. Ideal candidates have exceptional communication, customer service, and organizational skills and enjoy solving problems!  This position is ideal for an experienced client service representative looking to grow in responsibility or veterinary technicians or assistants that are looking to transition to an administrative position.

In this vital position, you will be expected to expertly practice the principles of the VCA Mission Statement, including:

  • Demonstrate excellent relations with clients/pets
  • Assist with client communication, appointments and file coordination
  • Build rapport with clients and pets; exceed the client’s expectations of service
  • Quickly understand and initiate the process of meeting client and referring veterinarian needs
  • Support the front office staff by ensuring client requests are handled in a timely manner
  • Handle client complaints with concern and diplomacy. Escalate complaints to management if they cannot be immediately resolved
  • Effectively communicate and educate clients on general animal husbandry, home care as directed by the doctor and answer non-medical questions
  • Distribute and explain new appointment documents and general hospital materials

At VCA South Shore, our highly talented team of veterinary professionals works together to manager a diverse and stimulating case load. Drama queens and slackers don’t last very long here.  Nor do people who can’t contribute to the team.  When talented people collaborate instead of compete, our patients receive amazing medical care in line with our mission statement: “where pet’s health is our top priority.” If you haven’t had the chance yet, check out the wide range of advanced diagnostics and specialized care we provide on a daily basis.

We also collaborate with our clients to ensure they feel valued and connected to their pet’s medical care. Our team of highly trained client care representatives and liaisons communicate with our clients 24 hours a day via phone, email and text – even sending pictures of their pets as they recover in our ICU unit.

We’ll be honest; VCA South Shore isn’t for everybody.  If you aren’t interested in providing the gold standard of veterinary care utilizing all members of our team, then we are probably not for you. But, if you’ve got compassion and a passion for exceptional veterinary care, then you need to apply now.
