The extern assists the intern/fellow with daily hospital patients treatments in the morning.  The extern will rotate daily with each doctor and get to learn from all the veterinarians at OSEA.  The extern will be able assist with cases in lameness, internal medicine, surgery and ambulatory medicine.  The extern will have the opportunity to assist the on-call doctor with after hour emergencies.  We believe in the importance of allowing for hands on learning experiences and involving the extern in the cases we see. The extern will be able to participate in weekly journal club and imaging rounds.
