Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic in Castle Rock, Colorado is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated veterinarian who wants to help us practice high level medicine in a busy 2 doctor practice. Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic, an AAHA accredited practice, has been serving the pet needs of the community since 2006. We are a busy, full service small animal practice with an amazing staff of 16. ABOUT OUR HOSPITAL New state of the art building completed in 2017 with five exam rooms, one large centralized treatment area, surgery suite, dental suite, radiology room, special procedures room, comfort room with attached comfort garden.  We have PAWS Pet Resort which has specialized daycare, boarding and grooming. Digital radiography, Surgivet and Cardell anesthesia monitoring units, blood pressure monitoring, Pulse Ox, ECG monitors, Idexx Catalyst, Procyte, and Idexx Sedivue DX machines for rapid in house diagnostics. New state of the art dentistry equipment including ultrasonic scaler, high and low speed handpieces and digital dental radiography. Companion Laser Therapy and MyLab Ultrasound unit.  Fully stocked in house pharmacy with Vetsource online pharmacy. Serving primarily dogs and cats. Open at 7:30 AM for early morning drop offs until 6pm Monday through Friday and open Saturdays from 8:00-1:00 PM. Board Certified Radiologist and Boarded Surgeon both available to come to the clinic. Cardiology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Oncology, Medicine, and Emergency specialists nearby.

About Castle Rock, CO: We are located in The Meadows Community which is a master planned community along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. It is approximately 25 miles south of Denver and 40 miles north of Colorado Springs off I-25. The community is interconnected by 24 miles of trails and contains 1,100 acres of parks and land for public use.  Castle Rock offers a traditional small town environment in an upper middle class area with excellent schools. It is a wonderful place to live and an enriching place for families. We are a dog friendly town with dogs welcome at many restaurants and shops as well as nearby dog parks and dog friendly trails. Nearby Denver, just a 30 minute Light Rail ride or drive away, offers 16th Street Mall, Coors Field, Denver Bronco Stadium and the best dining region in addition to a vibrant arts and theater scene and a wide variety of shopping opportunities. The Rocky Mountains offer many great opportunities for recreation including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, trail running and mountain biking. 

General Responsibilities • Performs physical exams and other appropriate diagnostic procedures; diagnoses medical and surgical conditions and presents clients with appropriate treatment plans. • Performs medical; surgical and dental procedures; provides emergency services in accordance with hospital policy. • Promptly and accurately updates client records. • Plans and carries out a program of personal continuing education • Supervises veterinary assistants and technicians; work with them to assess their current skill level and to plan and implement their continuing education and growth. • Delivers in-house training to the hospital staff. • Is accessible to staff while maintaining doctor/staff professional relationship. • Participate in staff training and staff meetings. • Works toward and attains hospital productivity standards. • Works with Medical Director to set hospital medical protocols and procedures; performs all duties in accordance with them. • Works with the Medical Director on plans for developing and growing the business. • Is active in professional organizations. • Ensures that appropriate take home instructions are complete and take home instructions complete to fully educate clients on their pet’s healthcare needs. • Takes time to communicate effectively with clients, presenting them with treatment plans and being sensitive to their emotional status. • Set an example for the staff in dealing with clients; promotes the concept of the client-centered environment. • Helps to develop new programs and processes that meet clients’ changing needs. • Assists the marketing effort by participating in community activities that focus on the veterinary profession. • Communicates objectives, motivates staff, builds and maintains morale. • Takes an active role in hospital staff meetings. • Promotes cooperative working environment among staff members; understands the value of teamwork; shows enthusiasm and willingness to perform as necessary to help the hospital function as a unit.
