We are looking for energetic, fun candidates to work as a full time or part time associates in the beautiful city of Tavares, FL. Adjacent to the quirky, historical downtown district of Mount Dora, Tavares is an idyllic small town in Central Florida with recent new growth, located about 40 minutes Northwest from downtown Orlando with quick and easy access to all that our larger neighboring city has to offer.

Our practice is the only AAHA accredited practice in the county and we have a philosophy that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care for our patients while demonstrating empathy for their owners and strongly value the work life balance and happiness of our close-knit staff. We place a high level of importance on building long lasting relationships with our clients that in many cases extends for decades and often spans generations. In addition, we are the only practice in a radius greater than 40 minutes that will see a range of exotic patients including ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, geckos, non venomous reptiles and birds. Currently, our case load is approximately 30% exotics and small mammals and we would love to add someone with a special interest in this area although it is not at all a requirement. We are also able to provide strong mentorship in this area for candidates with interest.

We offer a 3 to 4.5 day work week with no weekend appointments. Our schedule offers 30 minute regularly scheduled appointment slots with 20 minute rechecks. Our support staff is amazing with many having decades of experience. Each doctor has their own assigned technician during appointments in addition to staff specifically dedicated to other positions such as lab, surgery, and treatments. We have a close relationship with a local emergency clinic so we don’t see after hours emergencies, nor do we typically hospitalize over night. We also have relationships with referral hospitals for more complicated cases. Additionally, we have a board certified radiologist that comes to our practice once to twice weekly to perform ultrasounds and a cardiologist that visits us every 4-8 weeks for echocardiograms.  We also have an in-house ultrasound, full lab work capabilities, full digital X-ray and dental X-ray. Surgery equipment includes ECG machines with O2, CO2 and blood pressure monitoring, Hot Dog brand patient warming devices, and apnea monitors.

We are currently a three doctor practice, looking to replace one of the three as soon as possible. Although each doctor has their own appointments, we do work together as a team and support one another during difficult cases. We can offer as much or as little mentorship as our new associate may need. We will place a high value on the empathy, compassion and communication skills of our candidates. Basic surgical skills and an interest in internal medicine or dentistry will also be a plus.  If this sounds like an opportunity you might be interested in learning more about, please feel free to contact me via email, using petdocbudd@gmail.com , or via telephone at 813-967-3995. This is my personal cell number and if I’m unavailable, please just leave a message or feel free to text. You may also check us out online at TavaresAnimalHospital.com or on our Facebook and IG pages. We look forward to hearing from you!
