Stellar AAHA small animal hospital in Fairbanks seeks a full-time experienced practice manager 

Mt. McKinley Animal Hospital is a privately-owned AAHA small animal hospital in Fairbanks, Alaska.  We are seeking an experienced practice manager to provide leadership in partnership with our owner, Dr. Krislyn DeLeon.  Experience should include 3-5 years of practice management in the veterinary arena, with high competency in managing overall operations, human resources, and financial management.  In addition, proven ability to create/support a collaborative team environment and consistent communication within the practice are key skills.

Mt. McKinley Animal Hospital is a very collaborative group that shares cases and works well together.  Three of our 5 veterinarians started here as new graduates and are still here after 18, 7, and 6 years!   Our owner, Dr. Krislyn DeLeon did an externship in Alaska and accepted a position here at Mt. McKinley after she graduated.  And she bought the hospital in 2005!  It’s been growing ever since.  Her easy-going nature is a real plus with staff and clients alike.  Commitment to Safety and gold-standard care is our mission. If you like the outdoors, there are both summer and winter activities including hiking, fishing, ice hockey, dog sledding.  We’re a short drive from Denali National Park.  Northern Lights are amazing.

COVID-19 Modifications: Keeping our staff, clients, and pets safe during COVID-19 is a top priority.  We have solid pandemic protocols for staff, clients, and pets with curbside pick-up.   To make your life easier, we do a virtual interview combined with a virtual tour of our hospital to save you time, assure confidentiality, and give you a real sense of who we really are.

-we offer curbside service which is very popular with both clients and staff.

-four licensed assistants and 5 others are taking the Pen Foster training program,

-our advanced equipment includes digital whole body and dental x-ray, ultrasound, arthroscopy, thoracoscopy, flexible & rigid endoscopy, in-house lab, electronic medical records,

-we enjoy supporting our community: Pie Day, Dachshund Dash, support local police dogs, do trooper and canine training, Pets and People Day.  

Qualities we are looking for in a hospital manager:

-Proven record of management and leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with Dr. DeLeon, veterinarians, and staff,

-3-5 years of practice management in the veterinary arena, with high competency in HR and financial management with ability to create accountability and consistent communication within the practice,

-hiring, training, scheduling, resolve employee and client issues in a win-win fashion,

-Calm and decisive with excellent follow through with veterinarians, staff, clients, and pets,

-Enjoy working and having fun.

Benefits/Compensation:
