We are looking for a Veterinarian to join our team at Westridge Animal Hospital in Texarkana, TX!

We have most of the bells and whistles: digital radiology including dental and ultrasound; full Idexx/Cornerstone laboratory, multiple anesthetic monitors, isoflurane, 3 hospitalization wards, and a full pharmacy. We are only 2.5 hours from referral hospitals in Dallas, and 45 minutes - 1 hour from referral hospitals in Shreveport, we work very closely with both of these hospitals. Our Veterinarian’s additional skills include orthopedics (ACL, FHO), abdominal ultrasound, and numerous soft tissue surgical procedures. We perform many dental and extraction procedures daily.

We are immensely proud of our technical staff. They are highly skilled, motivated, and team oriented. Sample collection and processing, radiographs, anesthetic monitoring, intravenous catheter placement, surgical preparation and assistance, assistance in examination rooms, filing and billing, care of hospitalized patients during the day, and weekend are all part of our technician’s duties. This allows our doctors to focus on veterinary duties of examination and developing diagnostic and treatment plans. 

Our ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be highly motivated, be personable and excel at communication, and be progressive and willing to learn. We are happy to provide mentorship if needed but prefer at least some experience, though recent graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply. 

We utilize the emergency clinic in Shreveport for afterhours care. We work all weekdays, doctors do not work on the weekends, and we acknowledge all major holidays. While our clinicians are dedicated, we appreciate time away from work and a good work/life balance. There are plenty of areas in town and in the surrounding areas that provide endless opportunity for outdoor recreation! We are only 45 minutes from Shreveport, 2.5 hours from Dallas, and 2 hours from Little Rock, so Texarkana allows you to take part in a small town feel, but being close enough to big cities to enjoy a day out!

We offer a base salary (experience determined) plus a percentage of gross. Benefits will be according to the NVA plan, including: medical, dental, disability, CE, and professional memberships based on interests.
