If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, Albany Animal Hospital, Inc. is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team in the role of Full Time Credentialed Technician. We provide veterinary medical care to small animals, exotics and wildlife in the Mid-Willamette Valley. A great place to live and enjoy the great outdoors!

This position requires solid technical skills and a commitment to providing patients and clients with the highest standard of care with compassion and empathy. We are currently offering curbside service ONLY to our customers, limiting access to our building according to Oregon State recommended standards, and are following all state COVID-19 safety and health requirements for employees and those entering the building.

 

 

Required Qualifications
*Minimum of two years working in the veterinary field as a certified/licensed technician
*Preferred minimum of one year critical care, specialty, or emergency small animal care in private, non-profit, or educational organization.
*Must be currently licensed/certified in the State of Oregon.
*A suitable combination of experience and education may qualify.

The successful candidate will have experience with:

  • Triage
  • Assisting with physical examinations
  • Inducing and monitoring anesthesia
  • Calculating and administering therapeutic drugs
  • Managing nursing care and treatments
  • Performing dental prophy
  • Performing digital radiographs
  • Providing client education

Successful applicants will work with integrity, be reliable, punctual and have the ability to follow instructions as well as be self-directed. They must have the ability to manage emotions under pressure and stay focused in a fast-paced environment, without sacrificing attention to detail or safety. Possessing excellent communication skills, both written and oral is a plus!

Our business hours are M, T, Th 9am-6pm and W, Fr 9am - 5pm. Employees are scheduled according to the needs of the hospital.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen; may be required to walk or stand for long periods of time; will use hands to manipulate, handle, restrain, or feel; will reach with hands and arms. The employee is often required to lift, carry and handle animals weighing fifty pounds or more.

Albany Animal Hospital is a drug-free workplace. Passing a pre-employment drug test is required as a condition of employment.
