Mountainaire Animal Clinic in Rock Springs, Wyoming is looking for a full-time mixed animal Veterinarian to join our team.

Mountainaire Animal Clinic is a full service, mixed animal hospital that cares primarily for companion animals and horses, although one of our associates also has an interest in exotics. Our hospital was founded in 1978 by our medical director, Dr. Paul Zancanella, who is a Colorado State University grad. He has worked hard to build a practice with an outstanding reputation for quality care and customer service. Mountainaire has over 15,000 clients and we know most of them by their first name.

Our hospital offers extensive diagnostic and therapeutic equipment for small and large animals. In our small animal hospital we have five exam rooms, each containing fold up exam tables, scales, and laptops, so you can write up charts in the room. We use AVImark for our electronic medical records. We have an Idexx in-house laboratory, digital radiography, Wisonic ultrasound, endoscopy, therapeutic K-laser, acupuncture equipment, and MagnaWave machine to provide PEMF to our equine and canine patients. Our small animal surgery suite is equipped with one of our three digital radiography machines, screens to display radiographs during surgery, 2 hydraulic surgery tables, C02 surgical laser, orthopedic and advanced soft tissue surgery equipment, and a dedicated technician to monitor patients during surgery.

In our large animal hospital we have a stocks, cordless digital radiography, ultrasound, Stubbs equipment for equine floats, endoscopy for upper airway and upper GI scoping, and a surgical area for procedures that don’t require intubation. We have two clinic trucks available for house calls, but most of our clients prefer to come to the hospital where there is access to all of our state-of-the-art equipment.

The location of our hospital allows us to provide much more than just wellness care. The nearest specialty and emergency centers are in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is about 3 hours away. A veterinarian looking for an exciting, diverse, and unpredictable caseload would thrive at our hospital. All of our veterinarians have developed areas of interest, which we encourage and support. Our experienced veterinarians will provide mentorship to newer grads in emergency surgeries like splenectomies, foreign bodies, gastric torsions, and C-sections. Our medical director also performs orthopedic surgeries to repair torn CCLs, luxating patellas, and fractures. You will not only be well supported by our three veterinarians, but also by our experienced veterinary technicians. We currently have a four to one tech to doctor ratio and a very low turnover rate, so some of our techs have been with us for 7 – 25+ years. All of our doctors rotate through weekend and week night on call shifts, so some on call responsibilities are required. The breakdown of companion animal to large animal is 50% companion animal and 50% equine, although we would consider someone with a stronger interest in companion animal (80-90%). You can learn more about our hospital at mountainaireanimalclinic.com.

Mountainaire Animal Clinic is located in Rock Springs, WY, which is in Southwest Wyoming.
