Destination Pet DBA Exceptional Pets is offering Sign-on Bonus and Relocation support, seeking a Medical Director and Associate Veterinarian! 

We are a full-service, medical facility for small animal care, our facility's treatment areas are massive and we have multiple stations with treatment tables and wet sinks. Our Hospital dedicated dental areas, as well as a dental x-ray; equipped with state-of-the-art Idexx lab equipment. There is ample kennel space from small Shor-Lines up to large runs with a separate isolation ward with various sized kennels. 

Phoenix is known for its sunny weather, world-class golfing, unlimited hiking to many amazing natural geographical sites, and a community with rich Native American history embedded. Both Maricopa and Green Valley have a very reasonable cost of living, great schooling opportunities here, and an awesome veterinary network of specialists we partner with regularly.

Exceptional Pet layout -

  • 6+ exam rooms, plus a comfort room for euthanasia. 
  • Two separate wet sinks in the dental suite with high-speed dental machines. 
  • Surgical suites with complete monitoring equipment.
  • Extensive pharmacy inventory.
  • New Idexx SediVue Dx, Procyte Dx, and Catalyst One.
  • Onsite diagnostic tools such as ultrasound, Doppler, microscope, otoscope, and ophthalmoscope.
  • A lot of room for growth.

Objective & Responsibilities: 

  • Devote experience, knowledge, skills, and energy to the treatment of sick and injured animals
  • Serve as a primary source of information on animal care for owners and care providers in our community
  • Coordinate and implement treatment plans and provide detailed explanations for the client education and medical records 
  • Deliver medical and surgical treatments with formulary approved pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment
  • Manage emergency medical situations that could arise in general practice—assess, stabilize, and determine if a referral is appropriate or patient can be managed in-house
  • Support your clinic’s other doctors in their diagnoses and surgical procedures
  • Perform regular and preventive health examinations
  • Assess animals to determine the nature of disease or injury
  • Continue to learn and understand the latest veterinary practices
  • Examinations, diagnoses, treats animals surgically or medically
  • Operate medical equipment
  • Client communication about care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication

Job Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine License 
  • Licensed by the state to perform veterinary services in said state
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively
  • Passion for the well-being of animals and co-workers alike
  • Ability to multi-task and perform tasks diligently in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to have fun! We love animals, and we want someone who will love our client’s animals, as well.
