We are an established two-doctor, small animal AAHA accredited practice located at the base of the mountains in beautiful Bozeman, Montana.

“Bozeman is called ‘the most livable place’ for good reason. Enjoy world-renowned fly fishing, dramatic mountains for hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, hunting, and backcountry exploring, Yellowstone National Park, and impressive wildlife. When you are ready for a more city experience, dive into Bozeman’s thriving arts and culture communities, ranging from main street festivals, farmers markets, cultural centers and museums to symphonies, theaters, and art galleries.” (courtesy of https://www.visitmt.com/places-to-go/cities-and-towns/bozeman.html).

Our hospital has two full-time doctors, and a full compliment of technicians and support staff that are dedicated to the care of the clients' animals. One of our full-time veterinarians has decided to move back east after 7 years with us. We are a close-knit team who enjoys cultivating individual and collective growth to develop everyone both personally and professionally. We have a culture of engagement, efficiency, attention to detail, and superior veterinary care and communication skills. We strongly value the culture at Foothills and pride ourselves on our highly professional cohesive team. This practice also firmly believes in fostering a healthy work-life balance. In support of this philosophy, all after-hours emergencies are sent to a local  AAHA accredited emergency hospital.

Our clinic has in-house laboratory equipment, a surgical suite with a surgical laser, digital x-ray, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, and two examination rooms. Our practice is also "paper light" in order to stay in touch with the eco-friendly approach our clients appreciate. You will be responsible for preventative wellness care, diagnostics, treatments, performing surgery and dentistry, providing client education, and building strong relationships with clients. We are looking for someone who has modest confidence in the way they practice medicine, outstanding communication skills, and is team-oriented.

We are looking for a permanent full-time Veterinary Associate who is available Tuesday through Friday 8:30 am  5:30 pm. We discontinued our Saturday hours due to Covid-19, however when we are able to reinstate Saturday hours the shift is from 9am-1pm and there is a doctor rotation.

This position will pay for state and DEA license renewals, an allowance of $1,200.00 every 2 years for continuing education opportunities, a uniform allowance, a pet care discount, PLIT coverage, 401K availability with 3% company matching, holiday pay, paid time off, and an insurance stipend; including the option for short term disability and life insurance. For the right candidate Foothills is willing to help cover moving expenses. Salary will be dependent on experience level, however a sign-on bonus of $5,000 will be offered once a contract has been signed.

Skills and Basic Qualifications:

  • A Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing in your current state, with the ability to obtain a Montana State license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of in-hospital practice.
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with hospital team members.
  • Can make decisions confidently and effectively.
  • Manages time and tasks appropriately and efficiently.
  • Maintains a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.
  • Has a commitment to ongoing educational development and growth.
  • Upholds AAHA standards and protocols.

NOTES:

Additional Salary Information: $70,000 - 80,000 annually
