Located in the northern part of Virginia, our three practices are in a growing area with beautiful scenery and great people. We are well-established and growing fast. We are seeking to add another mixed animal veterinarian to our team! The ideal candidate would be a veterinarian that loves being part of a team, understands that enthusiasm and hard work are a must, and enjoys learning new things. We have mentored many new veterinarians, and we welcome all to apply. We perform many complicated and interesting surgeries, and although we have great referral hospitals, we are always excited for an interesting medicine case. We love learning and collaborating to work through cases!

We have many different diagnostic tools:

- Digital radiology

- Ultrasound (in hospital and mobile)

- Arthroscopy

- Endoscopy

- Equine Power float (Dentals)

- Electrojac (for BSEs)

- Idexx in house labs

and more

The new member to our team will be expected to share fully in large and small animal medicine and surgery and take large animal on call every third week. Our mixed animal practitioners practice true mixed animal medicine. They see patients from all species. We currently have two mixed animal practitioners and four small animal practitioners. Our mission as a small animal practice is to provide high quality care to our patients while strengthening the human-animal bond that so many of our clients share with their pets. We believe that we are "family doctors," and with that comes a responsibility to educate our clients and practice preventative care medicine. On the large animal side, we seek to provide valuable consultation services, herd health protocols, and high quality care. Our large animal practice is about 50% small ruminant, 10% porcine, 30% equine, and 10% beef herds.

We do focus on taking care of our veterinarians and providing what they need to do their jobs well. We have:

- Paperless records

- Paid vacation

- 4 to 5 day work weeks

- CE allowance

- Health insurance

- Disability insurance

- Membership to two professional organizations of your choice

- VIN membership

- Competitive salary based on experience

- A focus on mentorship and team building.

Our staff is well-trained and enthusiastic. They have always been great in assisting new veterinarians and helping however is needed. We are a family, and we always seek to treat each other with respect. They will be a tremendous asset should you come work for us. Please feel free to check us out on Facebook or on our websites:  Compassion Animal Hospital, Catlett Animal Hospital, and Elkwood Animal Hospital. Questions are always welcome.

About Catlett Animal Hospital
Catlett Animal Hospital is a mixed animal practice located in Fauquier County. We still have plenty of cattle, horses, goats, sheep, pigs, and chickens even though we are just outside of the Northern Virginia area. Quality of life abounds as we work with small and large animals to help them and their owners. The large animal practice is ambulatory only and emergency time is shared with another practice to help give everyone plenty of time off to renew and come back better than ever! Outdoor sports such as hiking, fishing, canoeing, rafting, tubing, zip lines, etc are readily available. Beaches and mountains are within a day trip. Shopping, fine dining, and historical sites are local as well. When working we give our best, but when off, we have lots of options for fun and relaxation!
