Chestertown Animal Hospital is seeking a full or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join our team of dedicated professionals.   We are a well known and rapidly growing small animal practice with a strong local reputation for providing exceptional veterinary care.  Our practice was founded over 54 years ago and is still serving the community proudly.  Located in the town of Chestertown on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Maryland, an area well renowned for its proximity to the Chesapeake Bay, our doctors can enjoy a vibrant work-life balance.  

 

Our staff includes three full-time veterinarians working together in a highly collaborative environment focused on being true partners in care for our clients and patients.  The support staff is devoted and knowledgeable, committed to teamwork, and focused on providing high standards of care to each patient.

 

Chestertown Animal Hospital is a full-service patient care facility featuring separate surgical and dental suites, IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment, in-house pharmacy, digital radiography (including dental radiography) and a state-of-the-art ultrasound.  We also offer VetScalpel CO2 laser surgery.  This CO2 laser can be utilized in most surgical procedures and it offers many patient benefits. The hospital also has a mobile unit for in home care and end of life services.

 

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and enthusiastic team player.  At least 3 years of experience in general medicine and surgery is preferred, but enthusiastic recent graduates with exceptional clinical and communication skills will be considered.  Proficiency in ultrasound is preferred.

Full-Time Associate Veterinarian benefits include CE, AVMA, DEA, PLIT and licensing fees paid; health insurance including medical, dental and vision; Profit Sharing and 401K with 3% match after one year; partially paid parental leave and a personal pet care discount. A signing bonus is available.

 

Requirements:

 A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.

Licensure in good standing and eligibility to practice Veterinary Medicine in the State of Maryland.

CAH is a full-service pet care/urgent care facility featuring surgical suite, IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment, in-house pharmacy, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, cold laser. We offer state-of-the-art VetScalpel CO2 laser surgery for pets. This CO2 laser can be utilized in most surgical procedures and it offers many benefits for pets including reduced bleeding, less pain, decreased risk of infection, shortened surgery time, and quicker recovery when compared to traditional surgical methods. We also have a mobile unit and end of life service.
