Northern Lakes Equine Practice (NLEP) is a full-service ambulatory equine practice servicing Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. NLEP has a strong focus on preventative medicine, sport horse work, dentistry, and offers complimentary services in veterinary spinal manipulation and acupuncture.  

Dr. Golden and Dr. Meininger founded NLEP on the belief that fostering strong relationships with clients is fundamental in patient care.  We offer high quality medicine for both high end performance horses and weekend trail horses, aiming to provide exceptional customer service with an emphasis on client education and communication.  Always on the cutting edge of medicine, our doctors take pride in constantly advancing their knowledge through CE and local colleague collaboration. We are fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, shockwave, laser, gastroscopy, ProStride, and dentistry equipment. We are located 30-60 minutes from several referral hospitals, allowing collaboration on complex or critical cases.

At Northern Lakes Equine Practice, we prioritize a team-oriented approach, continuing education, and a quality work/life balance. Our doctors see appointments four days per week, with shared on call duties to handle emergencies for our established clients. We are located ~45 minutes northwest of Chicago, with easy access to Chicago, Milwaukee, and surrounding areas. This position offers a competitive salary with production bonus. Additional benefits include dues/licenses paid, continuing education stipend, health care reimbursement, retirement plan, and paid time off. Any experience level is welcome to apply.
