Littlestown Vet Hospital is a busy small animal/exotic hospital near Gettysburg PA. Our facility is in a bright, sunny restored barn. We are looking for the right person to join our team as a full-time veterinarian seeing dogs and cats as well as exotic pets if the doctor chooses. Benefits include a competitive salary, health insurance paid 100%, elective dental and vision insurance, and 401k with matching 4% contribution. We pay for licensing and provide a continuing education allowance. Our pet benefits are very generous. The schedule would include a full day off weekly, 8am-5pm three days per week, 8am-7pm one day per week, and a rotating Saturday from 8am-12pm. Our doctors consult each other about cases every day and will be here to mentor as needed. We would absolutely consider buy-in for the right person!

About Littlestown Vet Hospital
What makes Littlestown Veterinary Hospital special? Our employees! The most important and valuable resource we have is our amazing team. Our management philosophy is to hire compassionate, talented, hardworking, team-oriented people and treat them well. We trust our staff to make decisions, educate clients, and participate fully in the care we all provide. Our doctors! We have five doctors. Two of our doctors see exotic patients - sometimes 6-7 species in the same day! We also have a doctor who is acupuncture and chiropractic-certified. We have over 130 years of experience combined and are excited to mentor a new graduate. Our clients! We truly have the best clients imaginable. We are glad to engage with clients both in the facility and in the community. Among other activities, we participate in the local fall parade with a float every year. Our float is a fan-favorite and has been a winner every year! Our facility! Our hospital is in a barn that is over 160 years old. Formerly a livestock farm then pottery studio, the barn was renovated by our doctors for use as a state-of-the-art vet hospital. It has bright windows, high ceilings, a solar-paneled roof, and provides st...aff and clients alike with a charming setting full of animal art. Though the bones of the building may be old, our facility is modern. We have an in-house lab, multiple lasers for surgery and therapy, digital radiology, and a dental suite. This facility has won the Historic Gettysburg Adams County Barn Preservation Award and the Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce Environmental Stewardship Award. Our location! We are located in Adams County, PA just north of the Mason-Dixon (PA-MD) line about 10 miles from Gettysburg (Gettysburg College, Gettysburg National Military Park). Littlestown is a rural town within driving distance of Baltimore, Washington, DC, and Harrisburg. There are many local outdoor recreation opportunities for camping, hiking, fishing, boating, and biking. Numerous regional events are held locally including music festivals, wine/brew festivals, antique shows, Civil War reenactments, and the infamous Gettysburg Bike Week. Our practice! We believe in keeping up-to-date with current standards of practice. We use Avimark PMS. Our practice and all employees are Fear Free certified. We have an entrance on a separate floor for cats and planned euthanasias which allows for a quieter, more cat-friendly space. Our COVID-compliance! We have been providing curbside service since mid-March 2020. All employees are masked at all times unless eating. Clients enter the building only if the patient is being euthanized or if it is unmanageably aggressive without the owner. Clients are asked to wear masks at all times while in the building and while talking to employees.
