Who is looking for a change of scenery? I have a fantastic opportunity in south/central Colorado in the foothills of the Rockies. Canon City offers temperate summers and mild winters. We are close to a wide variety of outdoor activities. In your down time you can enjoy many of the local activities that our area boasts. In your backyard you will have access to phenomenal whitewater rafting, kayaking, and fishing on the Arkansas river. We have trails that go for days whether you enjoy to walk, bike, horseback ride, or dirt bike. You can hit the slopes of several of Colorado's renowned ski resorts within an hour and a half drive.

Rose Veterinary Hospital is looking to add another full time associate in a busy, growing mixed animal practice. Applicant should be passionate about partnering with clients to provide the best possible care for their animals while treating both animals and owners with the compassion and respect they deserve. We are hoping to find a veterinarian who is interested in staying for the long term. If an associate is a good fit for the practice, future partnership with profit sharing would be available. The associate will be scheduled to work 4 days a week and will be included in a rotating on call schedule for after hours emergencies. We split after hours emergency call with another local veterinary clinic on an alternating week schedule. The associate would split our portion of the on call time between two DVM's, and would also split care of any hospitalized patients when we are off call.  We refer small animal emergencies to an emergency hospital between 10pm and 6am.  Technicians are on call to help with emergencies and to perform after hours care of hospitalized patients when appropriate. A fully equipped truck w/ portavet box is provided for ranch/house calls. Applicants can expect to be working with multiple species - dogs, cats, horses, cattle, camelids, and small ruminants are most common.  An associate that is only interested in small animals would also be welcomed.  We also occasionally see ferrets, rabbits, and pocket pets. New graduates are welcome to apply. Rose Veterinary Hospital would support an associate that was interested in additional species including pet birds or poultry. We are open to adding services that a new associate would be interested in, as we strive to offer the highest quality medicine possible to our community.

Please email a letter introducing yourself and why you would be a good fit for Rose Veterinary Hospital, along with your resume and references, to: nichole.rvh@gmail.com.

Requirements: DVM/VMD degree, active Colorado license (or pending for new graduates), and DEA license. New graduates welcome.

Additional Salary Information: Compensation will be dependent on experience.

Benefits will include license renewal fees, liability insurance, AVMA, CVMA,  and one other organization's dues, 3 weeks paid time off for illness/vacation, and compensation for annual CE. In addition applicant will be eligible for a retirement plan with employer matching up to 3% (simple IRA). A portion of health insurance is paid by Rose Vet Hospital.

We are open Monday through Friday from 8-5, no Saturday hours.

Rose Veterinary Hospital is a progressive mixed animal practice. The practice is 69% Canine, 19% Feline, 4.5% Equine, 2% Camelids, 1.5% Bovine, 2% Caprine/Ovine, 0.5% Porcine, and 0.5% everything else. Our mission statement is "To provide quality veterinary medicine in a caring, respectful manner". Large animals are cared for both in the field and at our newly renovated large animal building. We have a full in house lab (CBC, chemistry, electrolytes, UA, Coagulation, blood gases), brand new Idexx Webpacs digital radiology (DR), Sound CR digital radiography for field use, digital dental radiographs (DR), Phillips Lumify Ultrasound, Aloka 500 Ultrasound with linear and convex probes. We strive to schedule at least one technician and one assistant per doctor.
