CVETS is looking for Licensed technicians for all three specialties and has multiple positions available.
Basic Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Care, including but not limited to:
Taking vital signs
Patient medical history
Specimen collection and performing laboratory procedures.
Performing emergency first aid
Administration of medication under direction of veterinarian
Taking X-ray’s, MRI’s, and CT Scans
Patient preparation for surgical procedures
Performs patient intake and discharge protocols as required
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Proactively communicate patient status to on coming shift and frequently with doctors to facilitate the highest level of patient care.
Identify issues and opportunities proactively with resolution focus
Supports team effort to realize goals
Follows all expectations outline in team member handbook and safety guidelines
Utilizes equipment safely and reports equipment malfunction or defect quickly
Is dependable and reliable in work performance and attendance
Performs documentation and record keeping with high level of accuracy and proficiency
Other duties as assigned
Specialized Duties Include but are not limited to:
Surgery preparation and assistance under the direction of the surgeons
Oncology patient management and treatment administration under the direction of the Oncologist
Neurology patient management and treatment under the direction of the Neurologist
Additional Salary Information: Pay to commensurate with experience
CVETS, Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty, is a new Specialty/ER hospital. The brand new 9000 square foot facility opened in May of 2018 and is growing rapidly. The facility includes a dedicated ICU, multiple operating rooms, a radiology suite, dedicated facilities for endoscopy, chemotherapy administration and special procedures, ultrasound, a 16 slice CT scan, on site MRI and support by multiple additional specialists (24 hour emergency, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, surgery, dermatology and radiology). The hospital is located on the northeast side of Columbia, South Carolina - an area that is rapidly growing and was not previously serviced by specialty care. The hospital and its staff have been designed with a culture aimed at exceptional client services and personal job fulfillment.
