Looking for a full time Chief of Staff candidate for our hospital on the north side of Nashville. We are a very successful 1.25 doctor practice with a 30+ year legacy, and we are beginning the exciting process of building our new facility! We will have all new technology (paperless, cloud-based practice management software, tablets), and brand new equipment (dental x-ray, IDEXX laboratory machines, digital x-ray, etc). We also have a high staff to DVM ratio, with four technicians and assistants, a receptionist, and a Practice Manager, and plans to hire more staff with a new DVM coming on board.

Our group has a young leadership team, led by doctors who support innovation and modern technology, but are maintaining family-owned local flavor with a large emphasis on community involvement. We have significant resources and commitment to forward-thinking tools, technology, and equipment, and encourage suggestions from our employees on how to continue to make improvements. Our goal is to have an industry-leading employee experience in addition to our comprehensive benefits package (including an unlimited CE allowance and tons of PTO).

The primary responsibilities of the Chief of Staff are to lead our Nashville team effectively with the help of our practice manager, to practice high quality veterinary care, provide excellent customer service to our clients, and a dedication to continuing education and development of the entire team. Our Chief of Staff should also know how to have fun, and be able to lead a positive culture within the hospital, and encourage staff to value work-life balance. Ideal qualities include being personable, confident, hardworking, and dedicated to high quality companion animal general practice (internal medicine and general surgery).

Compensation and benefits:

  • Competitive salary with revenue and profit sharing
  • Minimum 5 weeks PTO plus paid holidays
  • Flexible scheduling available
  • Premier Plan Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO (low deductible, low premium, includes prenatal and fertility care)
  • Unlimited continuing education allowance with PTO for CE days
  • 6 weeks practice paid parental leave in addition to disability insurance
  • 401K + matching
  • Short and long term disability coverage
  • Life insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Payment of all professional dues/licenses/association memberships/VIN/liability
  • Commitment to professional and personal development through mentorship and coaching
  • Access to career, financial, and mental health counselors
  • FSA for healthcare and childcare
  • Pet care discounts and uniform allowance

Resumes may be emailed to kathryn.kraft@familyvetgroup.com

Skills and Basic Qualifications:

  • DVM or equivalent from an accredited university
  • Tennessee license in good standing or eligible for licensure in Tennessee

  • Strong relationship building skills
  • High energy, passion, and drive to be successful
