Dawson County Humane Society is a non-profit organization and a no kill shelter with the mission of providing shelter and basic care to the county’s homeless pets.  DCHS is looking for a PRN/Relief Veterinarian for one day per week commitment (Monday-Thursday preferred).

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
• Licensure in good standing in the state of Georgia
• Eligibility for DEA licensure
• The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members, the board’s medical director, and other local veterinarians who help our shelter
• Proficiency in surgery is a plus. Basic surgical procedures including spay, neuter, wound care, dental extractions, etc.
• Advisement and management of infectious disease cases
• Routine vaccinations and combo/heartworm testing
• Rare euthanasia when indicated for medical reasons or extreme aggression/behavior issues. Must also be approved by Executive Director
