Stepping Stone Animal Society is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization running a very busy, low cost spay/neuter clinic in beautiful Cumberland, MD. We’ve been in operation since January 4, 2016. We average 15-25 spay and neuter surgeries (both cats and dogs) each surgery day. Based on how quickly our surgery days fill up, our region clearly needs the services our clinic provides.   In addition to the increased demand following closure during last year's "kitten season", COVID-19 also affected our veterinary team's availability, going from 3-4 surgical days/week to 2-3 surgical days/week.

We are searching for a part time, per diem surgeon who is interested in helping control the unplanned pet population; we’d like to fill this position as soon as possible. We have an updated surgery suite with high quality surgery equipment, very competent vet techs, available staff and the appointments. All we need is a veterinarian, like you, to provide the surgery!

Our clinic schedule is very flexible and focused on the days our vet(s) are available. We will work around YOUR availability. If you’re only interested in one or two surgery days each month…great! If you’re only available one surgery day a week…terrific! Are you interested in surgery days scattered throughout the month? Excellent! Looking for short term? Want long term? Wonderful! Interested in being our sole provider? We’ll be glad to talk with you about a salaried position and benefits.

If this position interests you or you have questions, please email or call us at your earliest convenience.

Qualifications: Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) or equivalent required. Ability to work with and handle all cats and dogs.  Maryland state licensure and liability insurance required.  Work experience preferred in high-volume spay and neuter, but not required.

NOTES:

Additional Salary Information: Will consider perdiem or relief veterinarian payments as our surgery schedule/days worked per work can be very flexible
