One of beloved doctors is moving to Bluffton, SC to start his own practice in May ‘22. While we are saddened to see him go, it brings new opportunity to find another wonderful fit for our Flowertown family.

I don’t need to sell you on the location: Charleston, SC is ranked as one of the best cities in the US and Canada by Travel and Leisure, and the best city in the world! Flowertown Animal Hospital (FAH) is technically in Summerville, SC, but our schools are among the best in the state and we are still just 40 minutes from the beach and 30 minutes from walking on King St. downtown on the peninsula. Not to mention, Summerville has grown by 7% in the last five years, making it one of the fastest growing areas in the state.

FAH is a progressive and rapidly growing, small animal AAHA practice that is looking to hire a new veterinarian to our family. Our quest to be premiere general practice veterinary facility in Summerville continues to take us to new heights. We are well on our way to this goal with exceptional customer service, client communication, and standard of care medicine at the forefront of our mission.

We have an excellent staff; composed of 7 veterinarians, 1 hospital manager (LVT, CVPM), 14 technicians (numerous members in LVT upgrade training/coursework), 2 assistants and 6 receptionists. Our 2,900 sq. foot building contains 5 exam rooms, a surgery suite, treatment area, dental suite, isolation room and separate full in-house Idexx /radiology suite. We have started the initial architect discussions to expand our hospital to 6-8,000 sq feet in the next 24-36 months. All doctors meet monthly to discuss protocols, changes in current/best medicine/standard of care and to ensure the best communication as a team. We host a local specialist on a quarterly basis to further promote growth as a team and to push the boundaries on our medicine and surgical standards.

We’re looking to add a full-time veterinarian to our practice who is comfortable working independently and as a part of our team, whose focus remains on communication, patient AND client care, and quality medicine and/or surgery. We currently see dogs, cats and exotics, and welcome anyone that can promote our continued growth in any and all of these areas. We recently added acupuncture services and plan to offer a mobile service once the pandemic eases (will post in ~30-60 days).

The new position will cover our 12pm-12am hours, 3 days a week rotating monthly between either Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays OR Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This could change in the future as our shifts are selected by seniority with the hospital. There is not a foreseen change, but we will definitely discuss this aspect during our interview process.
