Salary Details:

If the candidate is not a high volume surgeon, we will have the candidate trained. Salary increases as number of surgeries increase.

We are looking for an additional veterinarian surgeon to work for our non-profit spay/neuter clinic. The person hired will mainly be working in our surgery clinic with an occasional need to work our wellness clinic. We are looking for 4 days per week of surgery. Our other surgeon currently works an average of 25-27 hours per week. We are offering a salary range of $150-180,000 per year depending on experience.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for daily care of all surgical patients, ensuring all clinic staff members are adhering to proper pre-, peri- and post-operative care of patients. During designated training sessions, responsible for training participants in all aspects of patient care and efficient/safe clinic practices, maintaining a professional and friendly manner at all times. Must be a licensed veterinarian in the state of Texas and be able to maintain all current and correct licensure. Some of the job functions that are needed for this position include examine animals pre-operatively to determine their ability to withstand surgery, perform surgery and sterilizations, exam animals post- operatively, supervise handling and recording of controlled substances by veterinary technicians, communicate with staff and the director about issues concerning staff or training protocols, all other duties as assigned.

We have an energetic, fun loving team and want to add to our team. PAAC is dedicated to helping pet owners in the underserved areas and we have several outreach programs and are currently working with one of the largest animal welfare organizations in the country to make a difference in our city. Salary is negotiable based on experience. Health insurance, matching retirement, and assistance with moving expenses, are provided. Current TX license required. If you love the beach, Corpus Christi is a great place to live. We have beautiful beaches and you get to live the big city life without the big city traffic. With a population of 300,000 residents, Corpus is an ideal location to relax and enjoy our laid back atmosphere in our close knit community.

Works closely with other veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and other staff.

The offices and operations of a high volume spay/neuter clinic can be very busy at times.
