Best Friends Animal Hospital in Swansea, IL is looking for one (or two) amazing veterinarians to join our growing practice that focuses on excellent patient care, and team care.  We take the time to get to know our clients with half-hour appointments, even for rechecks.  We can’t always prevent chaos, but we do try so we limit our appointments & always block some off for those same day just can’t wait issues.  We let nurses be nurses (and we have quite a lot) so doctors can do doctor things.   

We have all the typical stuff – digital xrays, laser, Idexx lab equipment, cloud based software that allows texting & emails – and some of the untypical stuff including no emergencies & no after-hours calls.  There’s nothing worse than not being able to relax (and have your beverage of choice) when you finish your day!  Full-time doctors always enjoy a day off during the week.  We are open until noon on Saturday, but those are rotated.  We are closed on Sundays.  We are privately owned so all decisions are made in-house with the best interests of patients, clients and YOU in mind.  Heck, we even seek input from our team.     

Do you enjoy surgery or outpatient care?  Do you have any special interests you’d like to pursue? Let’s work together to create a schedule that best suits you & we will offer the support & resources.  Do you like exotics?  Two of our doctors see those & would like nothing more than to collaborate, teach, etc., but an interest in that isn’t necessary.  All that is, is a good attitude and the ability to practice good medicine.  We’re AAHA certified, and many of us are Fear Free certified.  And we’re so excited to be adding square footage!  (We weren’t kidding about that space comment!)  With 8 exam rooms, including a feline only, 2 consult rooms, 2 surgery suites, 2 dental tubs in a dedicated area, a large team room and so much more, we’ll be practicing in paradise.  (That’s an overstatement, obviously!  But it’s going to be amazing!) 

A generous guaranteed base salary commensurate with experience & the opportunity to earn more will be offered, along with a generous CE allowance & paid time off, paid holidays, vacation, insurance (health/dental/vision), pet care benefits, uniform allowance, dues & memberships paid, matching 401k, EAP, and more.  If you're relocating, a compensation package will be offered.
