The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University invites applications for a 50%-time, non-tenure accruing, Lecturer position in small animal primary care medicine on an 11-month appointment. 

The successful candidate will devote approximately 90% of their time to providing veterinary medical teaching hospital (VMTH) duties as a member of the small animal Primary Care Services. These duties will include patient care, consultation with other services as needed, and instruction of students and house officers assigned to the service. The remaining time will be devoted to classroom teaching, further development of the clinical service, and academic service as assigned.

The Primary Care Service is staffed with a team of four clinicians and seven technicians. The Primary Care Service utilizes general VMTH resources including digital radiography suites equipped with PACS image storage, eFilm and OrthoviewVet templating software; and a 40 slice CT, 3T MRI, and helical tomotherapy unit onsite. The hospital maintains Mimics and Echopixel licenses for three-dimensional reconstruction, with easy access to 3D printers. The VMTH also has utilized the following items for the diagnosis and treatment of exotic companion animal disorders, including: a Storz endoscopy tower with rigid endoscopes, Abaxis vetscan vs2 analyzer, 8 general incubators, and 1 incubator with oxygen capabilities for exotic companion animal species. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with over 60 faculty members in the small animal hospital, and 50 interns and residents from both medical and surgical services in the department.

Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) certification in canine and feline medicine or other relevant specialty board certification, such as American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Small Animal. Applicants must be licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Texas.
