Who is LIVS…

Long Island Veterinary Specialists (LIVS) is a well-established, AAHA-certified, specialty-emergency hospital that has been serving the Long Island and metropolitan community for over 20 years. We have a staff of over 180 fun and enthusiastic professionals supporting of our mission, Pro Bono Animalium Hominumque… ”For the good of animals and humans”.  With this mission in mind, it is our goal to create a caring, progressive and fun environment where our staff can flourish and focus on our furry friends in need. We provide specialty services in a variety of disciplines including Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery. Although we have industry-leading, advanced diagnostic equipment such as a 3 Tesla MRI, 64 slice multi-detector CT Scanner, 3 Idexx blood lab stations, and two digital radiology suites, it is our team of diverse, caring, and dedicated support staff for which we are most proud and grateful.  We are excited to be the anchor teaching hospital for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Long Island University. This relationship adds to the energy and diversity of our culture by fostering an environment of education and research.

Who we seek…

We are seeking friendly, enthusiastic, people-oriented veterinarians that enjoy providing emergency care in a supportive environment. Emergency clinicians have access to Board Certified Critical Care and Radiology consultations 24/7. Ideal candidates enjoy problem-solving and have an innate calling to care for animals, their families, and fellow teammates.  A sense of humor and a fun attitude is a plus!

What we offer…

• Generous base salary of $200,000, a signing bonus of $50,000 the first year, and potential for monthly bonuses thereafter

LIVS is located in Nassau County, Long Island, which offers both the big city and small-town feeling.  Enjoy beautiful white sand beaches on the Atlantic Ocean and miles of rugged coastline on the tranquil Long Island Sound. Discover charming villages, vineyards, world-class shopping and restaurants, scenic hiking trails, picturesque public gardens, bike paths, swimming, boating, and fishing. All this is just a quick trip 30-minute trip to Manhattan.
