Overnight Emergency Veterinarian

About Us:  

• PAWS (Potomac Animal Wellness Services) is a full-service American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited veterinary clinic located in Indian Head, Maryland, just 30 miles south of Washington DC.
• We offer routine services, such as vaccines, spay/neuter, and annual check-ups, as well as emergency/critical care, advanced soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery with progressive pain management, and palliative end-of-life care. 
• We strive to give pets the longest and happiest life with the people that love them. 
• We strive to uphold a supportive and collaborative Code of Culture, free of gossip and negativity, focused on respectful communication and a positive team environment  
• We offer full in-house diagnostics including digital radiology and ultrasound. We also have a therapeutic laser. 

 About the Role:  

• 4–10-hour workdays   
  • Day, Swing and Overnight Hours Available
• Surgical experience is a plus 
• Interest in ER/Urgent Care a must  

Location:  

• Located minutes from Potomac River and just south of Alexandria, VA and Washington DC – far enough away to enjoy the big city, but still see the stars at night  
• The wonderful community of Indian Head, Maryland has a rich history. It has many hiking trails, water activities and is close enough to Alexandria and Washington DC for some big city feels.

Salary range

• $120-150K yearly + ProSal

Requirements
• The ideal candidates will have strong people skills, a positive attitude, and be self-motivated.
• Experience and/or interest in Emergency and Critical Care is a plus
• Availability to work some weekends and holidays
• New graduates are encouraged to apply as mentorship and training is available if needed
• A Maryland State Veterinary Board License (or able to obtain one) in good standing
