We are excited to announce that our busy West Knoxville veterinary practice has an opening for a full time veterinarian and includes mentorship with a veteran of the profession. We are looking for the right practitioner to join our family and help us carry out our Fear Free mission. This individual will have a desire to help provide gold standard veterinary care to our patients and clients, while helping our team continuously build their knowledge and skillsets. Hardin Valley Animal Hospital is situated in the growing community of Hardin Valley in West Knoxville, Tennessee. Knoxville is a great place to live with low cost of living, is home to the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, low housing prices and no state income tax, to name just a few attributes of the area. HVAH was founded in 2006 with the goal to provide uncompromising care to patients and build lifelong partnerships with our clients. In 2017 we adopted the Fear Free approach to patient care and have embraced these methods requiring all staff to be Fear Free certified. As veterinary medicine continues to advance, we have an agile and progressive approach to change while adopting evidence-based treatment protocols and diagnostics.

We are seeking a skilled practitioner and leader with advanced surgical, dental, and general medicine experience. You will help lead the entire veterinary team on a day-to-day basis. While working together with the Management Team and owners to ensure HVAH continues to stay current and implement the latest evidence-based medicine. You will be a mentor and teacher that can maintain hospital flow, with the ability to have a work-life balance that is contagious and inspiring to others. This is a full-time role that will incorporate a combination of practitioner responsibilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide gold standard patient and client care
• Support our Fear Free certified requirements
• Provide medical and surgical services
• Maintain a regular schedule of appointments and surgical services to our patients
• Mentor colleagues and Support Team members
• Assist with creating/revising hospital SOP’s
• Address client concerns
• Work with the owners and Management Team to ensure the hospital is well functioning
• Have a collaborative mindset
