Our hospital boasts a tight knit well integrated staff with plenty of technology at hand including Ultrasound, Digital Dental Radiology, Direct Digital Radiology, full Idexx lab suite with UA, a well-appointed surgery suite and 4 exam rooms.

Hickory is a small city with loads of amenities including 2 universities, one of which, Appalachian State University, will be opening a new campus across the street from our location. If you are the outdoor type, there are year-round activities. Whether it is biking, hiking, swimming, or camping, the foothills provides it all. A small jot brings you to the mountains to ski or beach to swim.

Started 20 years ago Blue Skies has historically been a two-doctor practice and is still maintaining above the typical numbers but with one and a half vets on staff. We are looking to add one to two veterinarians. If you like to practice based on the latest flow charts and algorithms designed to maximize returns while minimizing the need for analytic thought, then we are not the practice for you!

Blue Skies Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned and has no intention of changing that arrangement. There is the possibility of ownership for a driven individual. We love what we do, we love doing challenging diagnostic driven medicine, we believe that hard work and quality care results in happy clients and well compensated staff.
