Just like everyone else, we are looking for associate due.  Our awesome newer grad (who we mentored) is going into a clinical pathology residency and we will soon be losing her. Unlike everyone else, we do believe in work-life balance and we don’t just claim to practice good veterinary medicine; we actually do.  Full-time doctors (there are three of us) and staff have a four day work week.  We close at 5 pm every day except on Thursdays when we are open until 6:30 pm.

Since I was deprived of many toys as a child and never got my power wheels Barbie car, I have overcompensated in my “toy” buying at my practice.  The good news is that since my parents insisted on giving me siblings (they really should have taken my advice about sending them back), I do know how to share.  Some of the “toys” you’ll find are a therapy laser, a DR x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, a dental machine with a high speed drill, Tonovet, ligasure and a full in-house suite of Idexx lab machines. to name a few

What We’re Looking For

Sugar River Animal Hospital is looking for an associate who is looking for a long term position and is willing to learn, share their knowledge and work in a team environment.  We believe it is important for us to have consistency and stability within our work family since it helps us to run better as a team, and it helps provide consistency in the care that we provide to our clients and patients.  The job hiring process is not fun for us and we want someone who wants to be part of our team and continue to help grow the practice.  We have had over 30% growth every year since we opened in 2013.  We don't anticipate our growth slowing down any time soon.  

We are open to either full time or part time employment.  We welcome new graduates and will provide mentorship.  Our owner had poor mentorship at her first job and will make sure that doesn't happen to any new graduate that we hire.  A new graduate doesn't have to know everything, but be willing to learn and be open to trying new things with support and guidance.

Job Requirements:

• Graduated or graduating from a DVM or equivalent program
• Able to obtain a NH veterinary license and DEA license
• Be able to support our mission of treating our clients and their pets like family.
• Excellent communication skills.  It is vital that you can communicate with the staff as well as clients.
• Confidence in your abilities (Even if you're new to veterinary medicine.  We learn things every day.)
• Work ethic
• Compassion and kindness
• Be available to clients during working hours
• Sense of humor  
• Respect for other people
• Must be a US citizen or be eligible to work in the US
