The Humane Society of Mohave County is a clinic that was started 10 years ago with a mission to be a safe haven for all pets and their owners who are in need of veterinary care.  Starting as a simple spay/neuter clinic, our clinic has grown to a full service low income medical center that is a beacon of care over a 300 mile radius.

This clinic was built to allow for all people, of all incomes to have access to affordable medical care. We are a place where animals come for preventive care such as vaccinations and sterilization services, but also surgical and sick care that is so badly needed. We found that our veterinary system has a gaping hole for people who are low income and need care besides basic vaccines and spay/neuter. These pets have emergencies, need dentals, orthopedic procedures, or need treatment for internal medicine disorders. We have made it a reality that all pets, at all life stages, deserve to be cared for and not forgotten. We not only treat our surrounding community but we also provide vet care for all surrounding shelters and rescues. 

Our clinic is an amazing place that every visiting veterinarian says is entirely unique. We have a crew that has been together for 10 years and would do anything for each other and the vets who work here. We thrive on camaraderie and passion for our job.  We do not tolerate staff or clients who breed negativity or abuse, fire abusive clients immediately, and stand by my staff 100%.  We believe that it is so important to value all of our employees, give opportunities to individuals of all different pasts, and provide education and a positive work environment for all. We are also a family friendly practice, you’ll see my toddlers running around playing with shelter pets and paw patrol parties in my office. We aren’t the typical clinic, you won’t be pushing preventatives or measured by production. We measure our vets by their bedside manner, their ability to open their hearts, and how they work with our team. Our days are busy but we have many things put in place such as a 2 hr lunch period, weekly doctor rounds, and a medical transcriptionist to do your notes; so that your time away from work is valued. We see amazing cases and our veterinarians receive mentorship from vets who have been doing orthopedics, soft tissue and internal medicine without specialist access for 30 years. We have 5 vets who provide a well rounded and unique style of mentorship. Our vets are amazing because not only can they manage caseloads of all types of veterinary medicine, they triage emergency patients, provide herd health expertise for shelter pets, and perform amazing soft tissue surgeries at a level many specialists who visit are astounded by. Everyday you leave an exam room and our clients thank you for the service you provide and our clinic has integrity that is known in a 3 state radius. 

This year we moved into our new state of the art, 8,000 sq ft clinic, built by one of the nations top veterinary architectural firms. We are AAHA accredited, have full Idexx in house labs, have every piece of high tech equipment such as ultrasound, digital dental/full body xray, laser, underwater treadmill, physical therapy dept, and if you want something else, let me know and we will get it. We work a 4-10 work week with ample vacation time to enjoy your days off and travel abundantly. Starting pay is 100k-180k depending on experience, loan forgiveness for our grads with high debt burdens, and we offer free housing for a year when you first come here and a relocation bonus. If you work hard to build our practice and help your coworkers, we usually give bonuses throughout the year. We pay 100% health care costs (BCBS), offer 4% vanguard match, CE stipend, 2 weeks vacation, maternity leave, loan repayment program without a corporate 10 yr agreement, and lunch stipend. We also are close to Vegas so if you’re a foodie we do many amazing dinner and show events. The position is FT, great salary (New grad starting pay over $100k, free housing and relocation bonus) with an ideal balance of work and leisure. On call rotating through 4 doctors for clients only and 50% of income goes to the doctor. Training and extensive mentorship is available for candidates with a strong desire and aptitude to become successful, high-volume surgeons who demonstrate outstanding principles. The clinic offers daily hands on mentorship, 4-10 work week for 3-day weekends, paid BCBS health insurance, free housing for 1 year, 401k matching, CE stipend, family friendly (Owner is DVM mom),maternity leave, and paid DEA/licensing. We have medical transcription so you won't stay late to do notes! Many of our new grads can make a salary around $120k their first year with no living expenses, experienced DVM even higher! About Humane Society of Mohave County Animal Medical Center

HSMC Animal Medical Center is a humane alliance model clinic that has primarily provided spay/neuter and veterinary services to the community for 10 years. Our mission is to provide great care for every animal despite an owners income. This past year our clinic expanded to a new 8,000 sq. ft facility and now provides further medical and surgical care for animals in the tri-state area. Daily we perform 35-50 spay/neuter surgeries with office calls and our services have expanded to include soft tissue/ortho surgery, physical therapy, urgent care, dentistry, and shelter services. This clinic provides the sole care for 3 surrounding municipal shelters, 12+ rescues, and has a healthy grant funding to help with medical costs for those animals in need. The clinic has created multiple voucher programs to increase S/N in the community and has an active TNR program. We have a very dedicated staff with 35 technicians and receptionists.
